i have started my bleaching since monday, and its going ok so far besides one thing - one tooth won't bleach at all. what would be the reason for this? bearing in mind i have another tooth thats rct treated thats bleaching perfectly - i would have expected to have problems with that tooth over any other. the tooth thats not bleaching has no rct or filling or anything...any ideas??

1) It's only a couple of days, be patient :)
2) Make sure you're putting gel in the tray next to the resistant tooth

you were right! i just needed patience and that tooth seemed to start bleaching then a bit. thanks for the advice. my teeth seemed to have stopped whitening now although i started another thread on that!!

still looking for a bit of advice on this, i needed to refresh my bleaching on my teeth recently, but one front tooth it even less inclined to bleach this time. it is a vital tooth, with cold tests it responds the same as the ones next to it but its a substantially more yellow colour and has been since some fillings got redone a few years ago. the dentist thought it was dead but its not. what else could cause it to not bleach and would deep bleaching work on it better than standard tray bleaching? i am desperate now.

Hi satcfan,
is there any filling in the tooth that wont bleach?

Hi David, there's only a small filling at the back of it, the same as my other front tooth which bleaches normally. The entire tooth is literally a darker yellow colour. I have had its vitality tested as my dentist thought it was dead due to its colour, but its still alive.
