Hi All
First time poster here, I am a 23 year old male and I am due to have my upper right wisdom tooth extracted today (22/04 @ 12.40) after a filling placed 10 days ago failed to stop the tooth ache I have been having for the past couple of weeks. I have never had a tooth extracted before and am extremely nervous. What makes it worse is that my regular dentist is on holiday so the procedure will be performed by someone I have never met before!
I also visited the hygienist yesterday to get my teeth cleaned, when she touched, the tooth and I mean she literally just touched it (even though I asked her to avoid it) with what I think was the tooth pick thing I nearly went through the ceiling, the pain was intense and probably the worst I have ever felt in a tooth. I am worried I am going to experience that pain again today. I have so many negative thoughts going around in my head at the moment but I really want to get this over and done with today. Any advice on how to calm myself down or support would be much appreciated.
I read somewhere that in your late teens, early 20s your wisdom teeth roots still aren't fully developed so extractions should be easier? I really am hoping this is the case.
