In 2.5 hrs I will need to be in a chair to have my bottom back rt molar extracted. I am so nervous im about to throw up and have diarrhea. My fear…getting numb. Having my throat feel numb or my tongue gets numb and I feel like I’m choking. I know they will inject me on the outter and inner side of my tooth and that freaks me out. It’s so close to the throat.
I want to cancel. I want to cry. I want to be knocked out for this. I know it’s infected and I know it has to be done. I just…I’m a mess. I don’t have anyone to go with me. I feel like I’m about to pass out. I can’t handle this.

Hi, with the time difference, I'm not sure if you've already had your appointment - if so, I hope you made it there and that everything went well :grouphug:

Please let us know how you got on regardless of whether you made it there or not!

Sitting in the chair waiting. Dr who usually does my numbing is not here. I had a panic attack when I found out. Guess they are running behind so I have to wait. My nerves are just about shot and my stomach is in knots. I cried once already. Send help!

Sorry I was asleep when you wrote this! That’s awful that your usual dentist wasn’t there and that you had no warning of this, and that you were being left on your own - that sounds very impersonal and scary 😢. I hope things worked out in the end all the same - what happened and how are you doing now?

All in all it went well. The numbing was fine and didn’t affect my throat. My tongue was a little numb but nothing major. There was a big infection so when she numbed into the infection I felt it all! Then came the extraction and cleaning out the infection and I was done.
I’m in some pain now but Tylenol and Advil helps. Not having my regular dentist threw me for a loop and made my anxiety 1000x worse. I am glad I got it done as the infection was bad.
Thank you again for the support and words of encouragement!

Great to hear that you managed to go through with it, and that the numbing didn’t affect your throat at all. Must be such a relief! Congratulations and wishing you a very speedy recovery 🤗

Congrats on getting through it, you are very brave and made it, be proud and reward yourself when you are feeling up to it! I had a top molar extracted 11 days ago and it is going well. Stay positive.

Really glad you were ok.I am having a lower rear molar out tomorrow and am scared stiff but your post helped. Thanks
