I had a molar removed on Friday at 9am - it is now Monday at 12:30pm. On Sunday the blood clot came out without me even noticing and the yellowish stuff that is still in the extraction site keeps getting smaller and smaller leaving more of a hole all the time. I don't have any significant pain (just a dull ache if I touch my jaw) and no fever either. My dentists office closes soon for the night and I am worried that I may be developing dry socket....any thoughts?

You should be fine now, usually you are safe from dry socket 72 hours after extraction. You would know if you had dry socket because the pain is really bad it hurts as much as an abscess does and you may get a really bad taste. I would think that you don't have it but if you are still worried then contact your dentist when they do open and let them have a look.

Although dry socket is very painful it is very easily dealt with by a dentist, they can get you out of pain almost immediately. It isn't something I would want but it isn't something that I would be overly worried about knowing it is so easy to treat.

You are most welcome.
