Anxiety about dental xray

I’m currently dealing with an infected molar but the emergency dentist said I need to see an oral surgeon as he was unsure of the anatomy of the roots and thought they may be fused with the premolar next to it - I’m in a terrible state worrying about whether to do and the cost of potentially losing both teeth. Any advice would be grately appreciated please
