hi does anyone have any idea what this can be if i describe my symptons thank you,
my mouth stays open i can close it but its like a spring, it srpings back open which mean i can talk properly, i cant eat, drink, swallow properly, when i wake in the morning my jaw aches i can open it though just a little painful on one side, its been like this for 5 months now, and i havent got the £200 required by the dentist as i went to the dentist and needed some filling etc that was before this so now i have to pay the amount before i can go to see what it is!! also having a mouth ulcer on the same side under my tongue.........not a happy time atm !! :(

I would go and see your GP who won't charge you and may be able to refer you to the hospital (again no charge).

Did you mean to type that you can't eat, talk etc or that you can?

Do you still owe your NHS dentist money? If not the fee for a check-up is more like 15 pounds than 200 pounds.
 
no i dont owe the dentist money they want it before i make another appointment i did go to the doctors who told me to use pain relief gel on my jaw muscles and take ibuprofen every four hours even though its been months she said go to the dentist for a mouth guard i cant talk properly or eat properly as i cant keep my mouth closed to do this
 
It sounds like they think you have tmj. No reason not to pester your GP a bit more if the dentist is out of the question.
