I started back at the dentist in August after 10 years. My teeth were/are a mess. So far I"ve had three molars extracted and still have an extraction, 2 replacement filling, a filling and a clean to go. In September My first treatment was extracting my 2nd and 3rd upper molars that were all broken and infected. Before having them extracted my gum in that area would sting and burn which went after the extractions. Now three months later
it's back and very unconfortable. Five nights ago I went to the emergency dentist he poked, prodded, tapped and took xrays, he couldn't find anything wrong. I suffer from anxiety it's really unconfortable and doing my head in. Any ideas please
Thanks

Anybody? Can x rays miss infection?

Hi there

Does this stinging and burning happen after you eat something spicy or hot or anything in general? What triggered it to become sensitive like this? There shouldn't be an infection if there is no tooth. However, you could have a gingival abcess or maybe fragments of tooth that were left behind might be trying to poke through the gum.

Take some ibuprofen for the pain
