I posted quite some time ago about a chip on the side of my canine tooth. I built up the courage to see my dentist and she said it had decayed a bit, so she smoothed it down and filled it with a white composite filling. The filling covers the entire side of my tooth right down to the gum.
I have now noticed an unpleasant black mark around the tooth at the gumline. Is it common for composite fillings to discolour and turn black at the gum? I know this happens with crowns, but wasn't sure about fillings. Concerned that it could be decay under the filling.
