hi... i got white filling for my tooth and after 3 weeks i spotted a black spot on the filling and the tooth was sensitive and ached a little especially when brushing...i visited my dentist he told me that it was nothing important and got me rid of the black spot in a few seconds... now after another 2 weeks the tooth aches more and another black spot is in the making ...apparently the material used is of no quality and about the pain... i want to know if getting an x-ray would show where my doctor has gone wrong

there are several reasons why the tooth could be sensitive after a new restoration some are the dentist fault and others are not.
As to the black spot it is due to surface porosity which careful technique will minimize.
