Broken tooth extraction

I am scheduled for a broken tooth extraction tomorrow under local anesthesia. It is an upper premolar tooth. I have requested for oral sedation as well. I have never done any extraction before and am super nervous. I was told the procedure would take an hour and that it would be a surgery of sorts because my tooth has broken off at the gumline, and only the roots now remain. I'm scared that I feel pain during the procedure (despite anesthesia) to the extent that I feel so nauseous right now. I was told they might make a slit to access the roots. I dont know what to expect. If anyone has done something similar, please share your experience, it would do me wonders to calm my nerves. I am sick with worry and so scared, my hands are shaking as I am typing this. I know my fears are psychological, but I have heard so many horror stories and I can't seem to get myself together.

Upper premolars are the easiest tooth to get numb, I'd be surprised if you felt any pain whatsoever.

The sedation doesn't stop you from communicating so arrange a stop signal with your dentist before you start the treatment.

There will be a lot of pressure in the area of the tooth, possibly a dental handpiece will be needed, the sensation will be the same as if you're having a filling done, lots of water and whining noises.
If they need to lift a flap of gum to get to the roots then it will be sutured back down afterwards, the stitches will dissolve away in a week or so but the worst thing about them is that they feel like you've got a hair in your mouth

@Gordon thanks Gordon! Im in the waiting area now to collect my script. I will be given 4 mg of Lorazapam. I think there will be a little bit of bone removal and sectioning of my tooth. Sounds so nerve wracking. But I'm here. My only hope is that the procedure doesn't hurt me. I will let you know how it goes.

This feels like a survival story, so here it goes. I dont remember much of the procedure, except that everything happened very quickly. I hardly felt any pain when they administered anesthesia and just sat there with my eyes closed and listened to music. I felt there was a blur of activity in my mouth which involved them pushing against my retained root. It didn't hurt and with the sedative, I really didn't care. She stopped to ask if I was okay before going in for another round of pushing against the retained root. Next thing I knew , they were celebrating because the tooth was out. I remember feeling rilief, but I dont remember everything feeling the tooth slide out. Next think I know, my broken tooth was out easy peasey in just 20 minutes! I have some minor bleeding but that's to be expected. Came home and had the best sleep!
