Sorry im a newbie and still learning to use this forum

I took out tooth number 12, upper left premolar.

Took it out on tuesday at 11 am and now its 1 pm saturday so around 100 hours post op.

It was going to be surgical as there were barely any tooth left but my dentist did a great job and done it in simple extraction. 30 seconds of wiggling and that was it.

Never really had any pain so far and it seems like healing well. Black clot in the middle with white thing in the middle. Clot shrink quite a bit with gum healing.

I just really wanna have a cigarette. Its been 4 full days and few hours. Can i smoke with wet gauze up there? no more fear of dry socket?
its not surgical its not wizzie its not lower or its molar either. Its just upper premolar.

Probably not what you want to hear but if you've already gone four days without a cigarette you should just keep going and quit.

I smoked for 20 years, I loved nothing more than smoking, not drinking, not eating, not drugs, and I was able to quit. If I can do it anyone can.

The patch was what finally helped me to quit for good, try it!

Hi to the fourm.

You are usually safe from dry socket after 72 hours after extraction and as you are way past that now you will be fine.

We are not here to judge or tell you off, if you want to smoke now you will be fine. We all know it isn't the best idea but if you smoke then that is your choice and you will not be judged on here for it.

I am an x smoker too and I understand the wanting a cig even though we know they aren't good for us. It is your choice and you will be okay.
