Choosing a dentist between years experience vs number of dental implants placed

Hi. I'm currently going through the process of trying to choose where to have a single-tooth dental implant performed. I currently have two choices local to where I live. One dentist has been placing implants for around 14 years and "quotes over 600 successful implants" and has the qualification Dip ImpDent RCS(Eng) Advanced Certificate. He also practices in other general areas of dentistry and is permanently at a single practice.

Another dentist is a specialist in implants who visits the dental practice on a few days a week and has performed "over 3000 implants" with the qualification Cert Imp Dent(NYU) MS(NYU). This dentist has less general experience in terms of years (around 5 years in private practice), but appears to have more specific implant experience and I can see he also has a research background in implants.

The difference in price between the two is around £2500 for the first dentist, and £3400 for the second. So I'm wondering if the price difference would be justified based on their backgrounds?

Thanks for any help given.

Ted,As with so many things in life it all depends. 600 implants in 14 years isn't a huge number but it's not insignificant. The other guy sounds as if he's been working in a hospital environment beofre moving into practice.
If the case is easy - no grafting and especially if the gum isn't visible when you smile then the choice maybe doesn't matter so much.
If it's a difficult case then experience is more likely to effect the end result
