Hi,

Ive posted a few times before and just need some reassurance...I've had a draining abcess for 18 months now and the broken tooth that it's above has been broken for around 3 years. I have a sedation appointment coming up in about 5 weeks to get it removed but I'm terrified and can't imagine even getting to the appointment.
For the past few months I've been really physically and mentally unwell. I think it's a b12 deficiency which has caused all kinds of problems including anxiety and depression and sleeping problems.
At the moment the furthest I go away from home is the local shops. I'm absolutely miserable. I know I need this tooth out asap but I'm going to get myself in such a panic when the day of the appointment comes. Could the tooth infection have caused my symptoms and not the b12 deficiency?

Not likely, no.

Have you actually been diagnosed with B12 deficiency? It can cause some oral symptoms, mainly burning mouth and tongue syndrome. You can help by increasing the folic acid in your diet, legume vegetables like cauliflower and broccoli, and Special K cereal is especially rich in folic acid so a bowl of that a day is a good idea.

@Gordon Thanks, Gordon
My GP decided to start treatment due to my neuro symptoms,my b12 test results was low normal after taking high dose supplements so it does point towards the deficiency. I just wish I'd had my tooth sorted before all this anxiety started

@jd222 did you get it out ? This is exactly my issue and I’m beyond terrified. Hope your ok
