Dentist stopped extraction without finishing? Possibly me using bad language because of discomfort?

So i'm at a public dentist.
I am not sure if it was because of me cussing a couple of times with the discomfort, which was just a natural reaction and i'm sure they've had that before?
It wasn't as if i cussed directly and with with extraction tools in your mouth it's more of a mumble.
Anyway, so one of my back molars needed to come out, and i had the anesthetic injections which seemed to numb my whole mouth well and swell my throat, However i could STILL feel the mild pain of the rotten tooth, and when the dentist started work he pulled it out in 3-4 separate pieces i think as it didn't come clean, there wasn't any pain from this just the discomfort of having your head tugged around which i groaned a little at, and then after the main part of the tooth was out i gather they started on the nerve which i could definitely feel and this is when i cussed, then about another 30 seconds of trying i did again and then he seemed to stop.

Anyway they weren't having none of it saying that i'm obviously not a confident person and they couldn't finish and would refer me to a specialist.

When i first when in i said "i have been known to pass out sorry if this happens" jokingly just warning them i'm not a strong person, which they seemed pleasant with did the anesthetic and told me to wait in waiting area for 10 minutes to let it kick in.

So I've rang up about an hour after returning from appointment and asked how long that would take to be referred to a specialist and they said 'Probably weeks.' After expressing my belief of seemingly being shoved off i asked for the number for an NHS emergency dental clinic which i was told they wouldn't do anything...

So i now have the nerve of the tooth still in and a shard of tooth stuck in the side of the gum which is very painful any time i move mouth.
I certainly won't be able to eat and drinking is excruciating.

I admit i'm a wuss but surely nobody can just lay quietly why a tooth is being took out, right?
It wasn't as if i was kicking and screaming or anything.
Do people normally feel the nerve sharp pain shooting through their skull even after anesthetic?

Contact the nhs helpline and ask them for advice. I had a tooth removed a few months ago and I didn't feel anything.

You need to see another dentist and get this taken care of. They might not be able to do anything tonight, but they will be able to tell you of somewhere you can go to get this tooth taken care of and soon if you are in pain.

Good luck Keep the gums around the tooth as clean as you can, don't disturb it tonight and seek advice tomorrow. You could ring around some dentists tomorrow and see if they can see you.

Yes, definitely NHS helpline. I just wanted to say that having been in an A&E department in a big city hospital on a Saturday night, I don't think the odd epithet would have caused them to stop treatment! Hope you get sorted soon.

Thanks for replies folks, gonna ring NHS helpline tomorrow just so out of it with whisky and codeine for the time being still got pain but its keeping it at edge.

As a dentist let me commit about aborting treatment. Since I was not in the room with you this comment doesn't apply to your recent extraction attempt.
There are times when all dentists will abort treatment for varying reasons let me describe when I have personally aborted treatments over the past 25 years.
1. While a resident at Miami Children's Hospital treating a young moderately sedated child who had profound anesthesia but still not cooperative finally threw-up on me and I knew right then and there I was ready to loose my temper so I stood up told my very capable assistant to place a temporary and walked away.
2. A pretty well seated patient I was treating wasn't tolerating the sedatives well with variation in vitals so I aborted that case
3. Two years ago a dental phobic who has a deep fear had me adjust a back molar that was rough and while doing this with a very cautious and light touch she felt the slightest amount and flipped out. Her movement was extreme and I immediately stopped. She thought I was mad but no I was scared that my bur could cut her floor of the mouth.(this is a concern that all dentists have ).
I also had a man who when I first met him was augmentative and complaining about filling out a health history. After listening to him complain about paper work and the office for a couple of minutes then started to say negative things about what he thought I was going to do(Remember I have never met this man before and I had just walked in to greet him) I replied "yes you don't have to tell me if you are taking any drugs or have any medical problems and put up with my office and me" and then I took off his bib and said goodbye and left.
So if you are scared, phobic, anxious, have medical problems, embarrassed, shy, complex problems, and need a very gentle approach you are welcomed in my office but if you are rude don't come.

Comfortdentist quite right too. There is no need for bad manners.

I am that nervous when I go. I explain how nervous I am and ask that they be patient with me. I state I do want my teeth fixed and in time I can relax but it will take a few visits and if they could just bare with me. I explain that I will not move, I am frozen to the spot. But if the drill is involved I may jump when it sounds or feels different. I am aware that if I move then damage can be done, and it is no good blaming the dentist.

I can't see a problem with someone filling in the medical forms, it is for our own good. I am really surprised if someone has not bothered to brush their teeth before going. I also think that it is all well and good us having our say about horrible dentists but what they must have to put up with is just as terrible.

Now the trick is for both sides to try and make it as easy for the other as possible, Patients should be polite and present a clean mouth, at least brushed before the visit. Don't eat smelly breath food before the visit, and both dentist and patient respect each other.

For as nervous as I have been in a dental office in the past, I have never cursed. When ever anyone curses in my office or on the phone, the conversation is OVER! It may not have been the fact that you were cursing, but perhaps the dentist didn't want his waiting room hearing that?
