Hi I am glad that you have managed to find another dentist. The dentist that did my bridge isn't practicing anymore either he died quite a lot of years ago. I do have other bridges and I hope they last as long as the first one I had all those years ago.
I don't know what you were told when you had your bridge done back then, I was told just treat it like your other teeth which I did. I have found out the last 5 to 6 years that no you need to take different care with a bridge, it's a miracle I still have it really when I think about it. Still I must have brushed it really well for it to survive without super floss etc...
Good luck for your up coming appointment, keep us posted. Make sure they are aware of how nervous and frightened you are at the thought of losing the bridge. Also ask as many questions as it takes until you are happy with the way the tooth is going to be treated.
