I'm 23 and before today hadn't been to a dentist in around 10 years. I have lost several teeth (retained roots) and have quite a few cavities, I'm so embarrassed.. just a month or two ago the thought of going to the dentist made me panic and cry. Last week I bit the bullet and booked online with a local dentist, my appointment was today and ... how anticlimactic haha.
The dentist was lovely and didn't scold me at all, he looked in my mouth and noted the missing teeth. Then referred my for an x-ray on Monday. I was expecting it all to be done there and then, built myself up for nothing!
Terrified of what is to come, but still, proud of myself for finally starting the process to a healthy mouth and teeth - something I don't think I've ever really had.
Thanks to this site for giving me the push I needed.
