Ha Ha!! It's great when you can overcome that initial fear isn't it?

I'm still apprehensive because I gagged really bad my last visit and I remember it... and that is my worst worst fear is the gagging. it's what stopped me from going to the dentist in the first place. So I am leery about going again now. Although I was sedated, it's just a vague memory for me now but I still know it's happening when it happens and cripes I hate it!! *:'(

Need to up my dose for my top teeth I think. Anything on the roof of my mouth is just ...... :-X

Oh I had a horrible gagging problem yesterday with gauze, god I hate that stuff with a passion.
My upper gum, where he extracted 2 teeth next to each other is very bruised and swollen.
Pain is minimal - it is more like discomfort. I am only taking ibuprofen and nothing else for pain.
I was also given Azithromycin because I have an ongoing sinus infection and I told the dr I am scared of that infecting the wounds, so antibiotic it was. So far, the antibiotic has ruined my stomach, but oh well.

I was gonna take a photo and post, but since I look so attractive with this and a cold sore, I'll do it later when I have some make-up on. ;)

Thanks for the congrats!! I posted my success story just now.

I'm doing fine, haven't had any pain but I find the whole eating situation to be very frustrating. I can nibble on things but it takes SO LONG to eat. It took me an hour and a half to eat a sweet potato, 45 minutes to eat a banana...ugh! I bought a bunch of pudding, ice cream, etc. and those things are easy to eat but they produce a lot of mucous...I don't want to gross everybody out so I'll just say that I'm having some problems managing mucous so I'm trying to avoid dairy!! How are you all managing with food? When will I be able to eat normally??!!
:errr:

I am only eating junk, I swear. I have not seen a vegetable in a long time.:(

I struggle too. It's been a week for me. bought a banana today to give that a go.

KFC mashed taters and gravy... lots of Milo (pudding cup thingies)... lots of breakfast drinks for the energy and vitamins.

yeah, not very easy.

my gums where the 2 teeth were extracted next to each other are so sore and purple and swollen.
no bleeding, but the pain is awful.
I wasn't given any painkillers either so it sucks roughing it out.

Are you taking any over the counter pain killers like Advil or Nurofene?

Do you have DiFlamme? It's a mouth rinse for sore throats and mouth pain. Works great!

I am in Canada, so I am taking Ibuprofen and Naproxen.
They do not have anything over the counter for rinsing, I already called the pharmacy to inquire.
I will call the dentist's office tomorrow.

Ok, I born and raised in the States... how about Cholrespetic Spray? Do you have that? Same thing as the DiFlamme here... just numbs any mouth and throat pain.

Yeah, give your dentist a call.

ooh! ok, that makes sense then. There is chloraseptic liquid as well!

I'm surprised the pharmacy didn't recommend that. :errr:

Yeah, the pharmacist was not very helpful.
I just emailed my dentist's office. I am in a LOT of pain.:-X

pain has decreased tonight, the dentist said my upper jaw bone is very dense and he had to
work extra hard to extract the teeth and thus the intense pain in the gum - they suffered a lot of trauma and pressure.

Hopefully tomorrow is better

It takes a bit hey?
I'm on 1 week now... I can smile a bit better but still have a little bit of a dull ache.
the mouth is suppose to heal a lot quicker than the rest of the body from what I heard. I guess it's true for the most part.

Hang in there [smiley=hugging.gif]

still hurting. this sucks!

thank you posterkitten.
he said it is all within normal healing parameters and to be patient.

So much better today! Whew!!!

Awh that's wonderful!! :D

So much better today! Whew!!!

Yay!!! Glad to hear it.

I got sent home from work today because I looked "pale and sickly" from not eating! I stopped on my way home and got a salad, chicken soup and a nutritional smoothie. Took me over an hour to eat but I'm feeling so much better now
:)
