First premolar extraction

Evening all,

I'm soon having my first premolar removed and I have anxiety about injections.

Does anyone know where the dentist will inject for the extraction? I had a bad experience before with an injection in the roof of my mouth behind my front teeth.

OK, there will need to be a drop or two of local on the inside of the tooth, but with some surface anaesthetic and a bit of care from the dentist it shouldn’t be especially painful.
There are techniques to minimise the discomfort so make sure you tell your dentist that you're worried about this aspect of the treatment in advance.
