Well done on scheduling without sedation! It might be interesting to know what makes your dentist think that sedation would be a better choice for you - did she tell you why she recommended it?

Anyway, you are the only person who decides and I am sure you will be ok. Glad you just need fillings, no extraction.

In this thread, you will find a short lovely explanation from Gordon about what happens during a filling. If you prefer a more extensive description along with what fillings materials are there, you can find one here. (*** Trigger warning if you are sensitive to pictures, contains one picture of a smiley patient in the chair and one close up of a patient having a mirror in her mouth and a lamp shone on her teeth)

20 seconds for injection!?!? ?
I wasn't expecting that...
Thats horrific!
I think ive just realised thats what bothers me most, and now ive seen photos...

20 seconds for injection!?!? ?

The more slowly the injection happens the less you will feel so it's not 20s of pain if you thought of that, but more 20s of your dentist holding something in place without you being bothered. When my dentist does injections, it's almost boring, I can't even tell when he goes in and then it's just being there waiting. He sometimes tells stories to distract me and I often laugh as much as possible in that situation. Last time he had to numb me up I brought a list of dental questions for us all to stay busy - the nurse was reading the questions aloud and my dentist replied.
Which are the teeth you need to get fixed?

And may I ask what it is that bothers you the most? Maybe we can help..

Trust me...dental injections do not have to be painful at all https://www.dentalfearcentral.org/fears/needle-phobia/ give your dentist a chance to give you a comfortable one and ask for numbing gel if it is offered. Numbing gel isn't essential to painfree delivery though...the speed being slow is the most important thing as Enarete says.

So, tomorrows the day, 9am, nice an early which i guess helps. Any last words of wisdom?
1/2 hour appointment but ive convinced myself that it won't be that long (5 mins to get in and comfy, 5 mins at end to clean up, allowing for overruns...) so 20 mins tops... Right?? ?
Allthough im still not convinced that i will get through the door, which is silly concidering xwhat some people on here ned doing but get done ok...
Well i could be 20 mins away from being g carefree again...

Some time ago as I was on my journey, I spotted a journal with a funny cover in a book shop. I don't know why, but feeling the need to share this with you now. This is what the cover says:

"I TOTALLY GOT THIS. A journal to remind myself that I am truly awesome and capable and that I'm seriously gonna nail it, no matter what "it" is and no matter how much I secretly doubt myself, because doubt is just a four-letter word (okay five) an I should doubt the doubt like the nonsense it is and chant, "I can do this, I can do this" over and over again, while imagining myself landing that new dream job, or doing the thing that scares me most, ot getting through my run without dying, or surviving a blind date, because if I believe I can do it or at least convince myself that I can, I've got a darned good chance ot actually killing it like the champ that I am, tight after which I'll start wondering if I'll ever be able to do it again."

You totally got this. You will walk in get the tooth fixed, walk out 20 minute later and you will feel like a super hero and proud of what you managed to do. Will be thinking of you tomorrow 9am.

Sooo, its all done...
Turns out it def the injection that bothers me
But less so as it went into the cheak and not the gum??
Was over so quickly, less than 15mins.
Got back in my car and looked in mirror to find 1 was silver and 1 was pure white? Any idea why? The white 1 was the 1 that cracked and didnt need drilling?
Just a bit concerned its a temp filling and may come out

Well done! Glad it went well and quick. I don‘t know why you have different fillings, however if any of them was a temp filling, the dentist would have to tell you. Do you have any follow up appointments?

Hi
No followups, all done...
Just seemed strange that i have this. It was the tooth that cracked then the side fell off
