Full Mouth Debridement

I went to my appointment, and the work that needs to be done was much more minor than I expected. I need to have one filling replaced due to sealant issues and a full mouth debridement due to gum issues. Based on the exam and xrays, everything else looks good and the dentist said he expected the debridement to fix the gum issues that I have. He demonstrated briefly what the treatment will be like, but I was wondering if someone could walk me through the specifics?
Also, based on the exam and xrays indicating general okay health of my teeth, should I not expect to need terribly much more right now? Specifically, if I needed something like a root canal or an extraction, they would have been able to tell that by exam and xrays? I know more periodontal treatment may be needed based on assessment after the procedure.

Is a debridement a deep cleaning?

I have had a deep cleaning before and it wasn't bad at all. It is a scraping noise during, I didn't want injections but they gave me numbing gel around each quadrant and it was OK.

My gums were sensitive for a couple days but nothing major.

I'm really not sure. But I like the sound of numbing. Numbing is good.

I'm getting the filling replaced next week, and after they finish, they will do something with antibiotic liquid under the gums? Then I go back in a week,

I think I have heard of the antibiotic for the gums, but I don't think I had that. I did have a prescription mouthwash (called Peridex here in the USA) for use at home and I also asked for it after my recent root extraction. It helps with bacteria and inflammation really well.

p.s. I think sometimes people do have actual injections for the deep cleaning. I just hate getting that numb. lol
