Hi everyone,
Firstly, i want to thank everyone again for your kind, strong support. Since i found this site, i started facing my fears and got into treatment for the various issues i had with gums and teeth and i'm happy to say that fase 1 has ended past wednesday, after having two wisdom teeth removed, five cavities repaired and several deep cleaning sessions for my gums. It's been not easy but i'm feeling much more confident already and tomorrow, 11 am, i will be getting the upper damon braces if everything goes well. And, yes, it scares me.
Has anyone had damon braces on? How is the experience of having them put on your teeth? Do your teeth ache a lot? Do you notice the movement of the teeth? Can you eat? What if you suffer from bruxism, which i do? Is that dangerous?
I will be asking this to the orthodontist, but i would like to know from someone who has had the brace on what it is like? I'm past the aesthetic issues now, decided that if my boyfriend leaves me because of how i'll look, then he has no regard for my health. And everyone i told about the braces is saying Good for you! SO there's some support i never expected. But still, having the metal wires in your mouth and everythinhg, that's something you go through alone. I'm afraid my teeth will fall out because of the movement they need to create in order to put them straight. I'm afraid i'll break a tooth while sleeping with the braces and clinching my teeth. I'm afraid i'll sound weird when i speak, or that i'll be spitting while i speak. I'm afraid of getting my teeth very yellow and my gums receding even more when i have the braces. I'm afraid of the results.
Help?
