WOOOO!
So my hospital appointment was yesterday, got there 45 mins early, sadly i was on the wrong list so my name got transfered across to the right one, Wrist band on, saw the anaesthetist (sp?) and she gave me pain killers which kick in before so after the multiple extraction i won't have any pain. Saw the surgeon after, looked at my xray he said they were pretty straight foward to remove so about 40 minute i'd be in theatre. Then i spoke to the male nurse (who i must say was quite lovely, infact all the staff were for once) Then it was about half 1 and i was told i had to wait until 4pm to be seen too.. 4PM!!! And my appointment was for 1, but turns out everyone in the day surgery gets the same appointment so surgery can officially start at 2, anyway got changed at 4ish.. hospital gowns are hideous (i did have a cry to my mum because i was terrified
Lol) My mum couldnt come into the anaesthetic room as i was classed as adult as i was above the age of 16. Blood pressure took, pulse ox thing on my finger, it was raised a tad and the male nurse knew i was nervous so he held my hand
IV in, here comes the first lot of drugs, which felt so weird going into my veins, head felt so heavy and i was abit like oh gosh and the male nurse was asking what i was studying in college and talking about celebrities with me and telling me to keep squeezing his hand, next thing i knew i was awake. The male nurse said i was still talking once i was put out, Lol! Before that i did see my breathing tube being unwrapped (that was the most scary part for me really as i was worried of having a huge tube in my mouth, but it was fine i didn't know anything about it) 45 mins later i was awake eating yogurt and drinking water, went to the toilet got changed and away i went. According to the nurses i came aroud really well from the GA which is good
I do have pain killers for my gums but in all honestly i don't feel as if i need them because compared to the toothache i've had its nothing really.
Thought if give you this final update.
WOOOO
soooooooo happy i can now look foward to seeing the new harry potter this weekend
Hope everyone is all good and such
Take care
EDIT: Also i have 2 rather big pin pricks on my right thigh, one pin prick being bruised and the other not. I assume this is an injection to wake me up?
