heat sensitivity on heavily filled tooth

could be transient (eg if you have bitten hard on something), but it is possible that there has been a little crack occur since your check up. Also, remember that even with xrays, it is impossible to see everything that is going on inside the tooth, and caries (decay) can often be missed. If this is quite an old filling there could be some caries under the filling which is causing the symptoms. Best make a review appointment to get it chacked out. Better to get it sorted now than wait in case the pulp (nerve) gets inflammed.
