Hi

I had an extraction yesterday up r6 it was awful I have curves roots took a while to come out

Anyway the dentist said that a root tip tiny was left near my sinus he said if he went to get it it could go into my sinus
His said to take the watch and wait approach
I’m freaking out is this normal

It's not unusual :-) It's normally best to leave small fragments in place than try to dig them out at all costs.
Try not to worry about it, the vast majority of these just sit there quietly and cause no issues.
Is there something specific that you're worrying about happening?

Hi

So the tooth was infected which is why I had it removed
Won’t the root that’s been left be infected too ?

Not necessarily. If the majority of the tooth is gone (which it sounds like it is) then the little bit that's left is easier to deal with by your immune system. It's also not in contact with your oral cavity, so new bugs can't get in to replace the dead ones and they can't get anything to eat...

Edit to add, that sounds pretty harsh on the bacteria doesn't it? Left to starve to death all alone... although maybe it's fair payback for all the trouble they've caused you!
