I had a dental implant placed in February which healed up nicely within 3 months. After a couple of terrifying visits to get proper molds for the crown (due to my extreme fear of dental work), I finally had the crown cemented in a few months ago and thought this whole experience was over. Well yesterday, the crown just fell out in my mouth! The crown looks to be intact and I can see the remnants of the cement inside around the edges. The abutment is still in my mouth and seems secure, I guess that is good?

I will call the dentist tomorrow but I am freaking out, that dental fear again :( I didn't do anything to cause it, I haven't even started chewing on that side of my mouth again...partially from habit since the molar they extracted had been chipped and painful for more than 5 years prior but also because I was worried about damaging the implant. Will they be able to cement the crown in again? What would cause this to happen only after a few months?

sooner you go the better the prognosis as teeth move. Might need to adjust it to get it to fit. Your gum will need anesthesia as it needs to be pushed back
