Hi Guys, first of all big thanks to the creators of the site and those who contribute, so grateful for a site like this, I have a phobia of the dentist and some advice or info on some work I'm having done would be greatly appreciated.
2 Days ago I had an extraction done to a molar that had a cavity and was infected. The dentist where excellent, but as my teeth had been poorly looked after (I'm changing my ways!) the tooth broke during the process. They continued trying to remove what was left but due to the infection causing me discomfort and eventually quite a lot of distress they decided to stop, they used some form of steroid and then covered it with a temporary filling. It's pretty much at the gum line and I beleive what is left is part of the tooth at the front in the gum.
I have been told a few things about what the operation might be, but I was wondering a couple of things in particular.
Does anyone know how long the surgery will take?
Will it be as physically rough as the extraction process? (will a man have plyers in my mouth and be pulling vigourusly?)
Am I likely to be able to feel it? (I ask this as in the extraction they used 3 cartridges of stuff to numb me up and still the infection pain came through)
I've searched online but couldn't find any specifics on this kind of work, I feel if I know more about it I can approach it with a much more level head than I did my extraction. So please any advice would be great
