Hi

I have a hospital appointment next month to extract a decayed tooth. It's in a hospital as they may have to cut in to the gum.

What happens if I just leave it?

Hi Veck,

Sounds like it does need taking out in hospital, have you checked why with your dentist?

If you leave it it could get infected - abscess - pain - it's not worth it, best get it taken out. It shouldn't take long and you'll be back home before you know it.

My experience of hospitals is that they only do things when they are necessary. So my feeling would be to follow the advice given. Leaving matters as they are might cause you more problems than you already have.

As has been said if you leave it it will at some time cause you pain and may get infected. If you go you will be worry free and will be able to work on getting orally healthy. It will be so quick and pain free you will be so pleased after that you did it.

I understand how nervous and afraid you are feeling but they are very good and skilled in doing this, you will be okay. If you can just get there, you can trust them to look after you.
