Jaw pain after filling

Hello. I had a filling done three weeks ago in my upper left molar. It wasn't a deep filling and the visit went fine. My dentist gave me the injection, in the joint, I think. The next day I had a lot of swelling in my cheekbone that lasted for a few days, and the inside of my cheek was very sore. I have tmj pain frequently, and especially after dental visits so I didn't worry. However, it's been three weeks and the pain in my jaw joint I worse. It is okay in the morning but gets worse as the day goes on. I do clench my teeth at night but I have a guard. My question is, is this a common thing? It doesn't really feel like the tooth is hurting but know it can refer pain to other places. How long Cana tmj flare up last? Thank you.

Go back to the dentist and get it checked, there's a few things that it could be, the new filling could have thrown your bite off a bit, causing more TMJ problems, the splint/guard could be getting worn or it could be something else.

There's no way for me to tell from here
