Ten months ago I got 22 teeth pulled and temporary partials. Since then I’ve been pain free and eating better then I had in years. Until yesterday when I woke up with a swollen face and a throbbing tooth...dental appointment this morning showed a abscess. I’ve been meticulous on my care of my teeth since losing the 22 and I’m so frustrated. I AM getting implants in 3 weeks and I’m very excited but I’m bummed I’m losing another natural tooth.

It is tough.

You ccan do this.

You have already come so far.

You are a real inspiration.

Sorry to read that you had lost an another tooth despite taking a good care of your teeth, that sounds very frustrating. Was your dentist able to give you an explanation or some advice about how to make sure that the rest of your teeth stays?

He gave me some fluoride paste to use every night and told me to rinse out my mouth with water immediately after drinking soda (which I’ve drastically cut down on) if possible.

Good to hear that you cut down on soda and also that your dentist gave you some advice. If you are looking for some further input about how to prevent tooth decay, feel free to take a look at the dental faq here on the page. There is a very extensive article that covers this topic amazingly.

All the best wishes and may all go well with your implants

I thought I’d reply back to you. I’ve been using the Prescription toothpaste for about six months every night. I’ve been really dedicated and careful to use as my dentist said. Well finally finally has started to reduce some of my cavities. It is very frustrating to do things right and not see good results. But, that prescription toothpaste really helped me. I hope you will have the same luck. Please hang in there I know from experience how hard all this is.
