My gums were severely infected to the point that I had to have all teeth removed - but that was completely my fault because I hadnt been to the dentist for 40 years. However, though badly infected, the word bone was never mentioned, but I guess that's as far as the infection went because my dentist did say afterwards that she was very surprised that I hadnt suffered any major health problems through the infection. Yes, antibiotics have cleared everything up, but as it was the teeth causing the infection, that also helped the curing process.
