Tomorrow it will be 6 weeks since I had my lower-right 2nd molar extracted. I had no problems with the initial blood clot forming, and no dry socket.

However, I am still experiencing a lot of soreness. Obviously I still have a large crater left (my tooth was huge!!!), but the area is still very tender if I accidentally catch the 'hole' with my electric toothbrush the soreness increases for a while afterwards

I had the tooth extracted as I had an infection through the gum (deep pockets?) which caused bone decay.

I also had a retreatment of a failed root canal on my lower-right 2nd pre-molar 2 weeks ago, and the injection site was very near to my 'hole'.

Is this normal to still be sore or should I be feeling nothing now?

I hate ringing my dentist without just cause, so if someone could give me advice, that would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Honestly, I think the best thing to do is just that .. Call the dentist .. that way if it is an issue he can set you up with an appt and reassurance from him would be the best answer since he knows you and your teeth

good luck
