It is nearly one year since my bottom molar extraction. My mouth has not been right since.. Burning sensation and a feeling of something constantly stuck in my top teeth above extraction site. The only relief I get is when I am asleep.
Mentioned it to dentist on few occasions and basically just told socket looks normal and it's in my head. Had a filling today and mentioned it again to a different dental therapist and she took an xray. She compared it to one I had done in April and said although the gum has healed over the extraction site below the gum line has shadows which they should not be seeing at nearly one year post extraction. This is going to be referred to the actual dentist with a possible onward referral to a oral maxillofacial specialist.
My anxiety is now through the roof. I understand they probably wait for a year before specialist referral but I would just like one day without my mouth feeling uncomfortable. I wasn't given any advice on how to deal with this and it's now affecting my mental health.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
