Hi everyone,
I am officially booked for my root canal on a tooth on my lower mouth right side tomorrow. This tooth has been bothering me for over a year now, last year I got a deep filling done on it and it just never healed. Last week Thursday I started getting intense pain in the area, which was helped by Advil but still continued. By Sunday I noticed some swelling so I went to the emergency dentist as my own was closed on Sundays.
They said I would need a root canal, after meeting with my dentist he agrees so I have an appointment set tomorrow with a specialist.
I AM SO SCARED. I have a needle phobia so that terrifies me because I worry about passing out, and I don't like being in the chair, I tend to as them to raise it up a bit. I also worry about panicking due to not being able to breathe through my mouth with the dental dam on. The secretary was so kind and calmed my fears, but I'm still worried. Any advice? I am bringing my AirPods and taking Ativan an hour before my appointment. I am bringing my fiancé and truly hope it will all be okay. I am getting the needle without the adrenaline to freeze my mouth.
