New denture user

I've been given a new partial denture on Monday, thing is, I can't stand it, I'm sick of the way I talk and it depresses me, question, can the top of the denture be cut away so I could feel the roof of my mouth with my tongue. Maybe then I could get used to this ridiculous contraption and be confident again..

You are still at very early days with your denture, your speech will go back to normal and you will get used to the palate being covered.

how do I know???? I am a full upper and partial lower denture wearer, (. 1 year now) things will get better fairly quickly, stay positive
