hiya , ive just sat and read this thread because im in agony with a toothache , and petrified , so decided to have a look online and found this forum , how did u get on ? why didnt u have the op ? im intrigued now

Just pocked mouth 2 hard 4 my liken
Kept askin if this is whot I want
I'm like fuck ahhhh does that mean I shouldn't hav this done but he just said we could do loads of work +save sum 4 a while!!!!!!
Was all up in the air but tried 2 explain abt the FEAR I hav but stayed strongish said I want this done can't go on like this
So he said fine get full head X-ray then back 4 date
4 op
I trust my dentist more then top doc
Dentist explained 2 me yes we could save front teeth with loads of work but in long run ur stil be in same place
Know its my main phobia (hence need 4 GA)
Can't undertake loads off app my heart couldn't take it+that ain't no joke stress ain't good

Why do you have to have an x-ray when you have your teeth already made up?

Couldn't believe how stressed i was then not hav it done
Hav got 2 fangs(luv them going 2 miss them if honest)
Doc wants me 2 hav full maxi-facial X-ray
So he can c where roots r
I called hav told him there up at cheek bones
Ahhhhhhhh going 2 hurt but ive thought that since dentist said they were off
After 4ever on hold finally got app on Wednesday

Just a little update
Still hanging on 2 my own teeth lol
Had full X-ray at local hospital then just waited+waited 2 hear back frm doc ended up calling +begging 4 opp got 1 4 25march ahhhh
Mouths bn better then I'm used 2 but has started 2 give me jip over wknd
Just wish it was over already so I could b healing instead off worrying!!!!

Got my letter today in the post my dental appt is 11 March they said they had no practice leaflet though.

There's a hell of a difference between having all your teeth removed and just losing 8 of them. What's changed?
Sounds like the dentist/surgeon think removing them is not in your best interest given your age etc etc ...if so I think that is a good thing because you can't put them back.
You can be sedated for treatment - GA isn't the only option. Don't remove teeth which can be saved just because of dental fear...i/v sedation is the way to go and you should be able to get this at NHS hospital as well as GA. GA isn't suitable for complex restorative treatment and is really only for extractions.

Hello peeps
Havnt bn on here 4 awhile coz I've just b sooo stressed with it all+moved house ahhhh
But I went+picked my new dentures up
Wel they look soo dif 2 the full set i had made in feb
Not sure if I like them ahhhhhh
But the count down has started
Hav got just over 2wks till I say goodbye 2 my 8 front teeth(4at top 4 at bottom) go in hospital on 4 may
Scared but excited at the same time(weirdo lol)
Any tips peeps?

Go in 4 bloodiest in the morning(ahhhh on a Sunday)
Just incase I bleed like a slaughtered pig while there pull my teeth out on Wednesday +I need a transfusion which helped my nerves no end ahhhhhhhhhhhh
Got 2 laugh r I could cry
Soo scared its untrue
Got 2 spend atleast a month with no teeth 2help them heal ahhhhh
So that's me living like a hermit coz these no way I'll b seen with hillbilly smile
Planing last supper 4 Tuesday nite think I'm going 2 binge on mac D coz I love a burger+I've heard it a tuff 1 when it's just me+my gums lol

I understand. I'm afraid, too. BUT....In a week you'll have the most beautiful smile imaginable and it will all be behind you. This coming from the biggest fraddycat on the planet.
