Pain after extraction....is this a dry socket?

So I had a back tooth removed on Thursday afternoon and today, Saturday, it is very painful. Is this a dry socket?

I'm not a dentist, but I had the same tooth extracted in October and the site looked exactly like that. I didn't have dry socket, so I don't think so.


Well I say the same tooth, that was your tooth not my tooth or I would have two accounts here and be answering my own question.

You would know if you had dry socket, it is extremely painful and pain meds don't help at all. You may also get a very bad taste in your mouth. You are safe from dry socket 72 hours after extraction.

I am not a dentist but it looks good to me.
