Pain in crown???? Any advise please

My new dentist told me I needed a crown on tooth number 4. I went in 4 weeks ago and had the prep with the temporary crown put on. I went back in that day to have my bite adjusted, and again a few days later. I had pain...not horrible but not exactly nothing either. They told me to go see an endodontist, which I did. The endodontist said it didn't look like I needed a root canal. I go back to get my permanent crown on but with temporary cement, just to make sure the tooth calms down. The permanent crown fitted better, even though I had to go in once more to have the bite adjusted. I did this 2 weeks ago. It feels irritated some....but just slightly. It seems like it is the gum. I have been avoiding eating on that side as well.

I have an appointment tomorrow to get my permanent crown on with permanent cement. I also started eating on that side today. Nothing very hard...just stuff like cookies, bread, very soft chicken. As I was eating it, my tooth hurt a tiny bit at times and then I ate some ice cream later and it was sensitive to cold. Did I just irritate it? We are going on vacation and i really didn't want to have the temporary cement on just incase it fell out while we were there. My tooth has been fine mostly. Do you think this is okay for me to get it with permanent cement? I also wonder if it is the temporary cement bothering me. When I bite down I don't always get pain...and the irritation is fine...just something i figured my tooth and gums need to get used to. Any advise?

Temp cement doesn't seal as well as the proper stuff, this is probably the source of the problem.
