Hello All,
I am new to this forum and need some advice. I have neglected my teeth due to severe anxiety issues. I have decided to try and get over this and to make a long story short had a root planing and scaling 7 days ago. I am still taking Ibuprofen every 4 hours due to pain. I had my top teeth done all at once. They all feel great and very clean but the problem is the freaking top tooth towards the back on the right side. It is killing me. I haven't slept because the ibuprofen wears off. If feels like there is a lot of pressure in my right ear, jaw very sore, temple hurts, it even hurts under my eye. I am terrified to call the periodontist. This one tooth that is hurting me had a 10mm pocket. Do you think it hurts so bad because it was in bad shape to begin with? Has anyone gone through this?

Pain and pressure 7 days after scaling and planing? It sounds to me that most likely an infection has set in your tooth. Given everything you are presenting here it sounds as though infection set in during, or shortly after the procedure. The ear and eye pain are most likely due to sinus pressure build up due to the infection and referred pain. I could not say more wihtout x-rays and a quick exam though.

On a side note please be careful with using that much Ibuprofen.
