I'm struggling I have always taken care of my teeth I have been through 3 root canals, 3 extractions and have grinded down my uppers so bad now I need them all capped. I am not a rich girl I can't do this anymore. I have now suffered from extreme anxiety attacks even thinking of my next appointment when does it all end I want to just b rid of my teeth. I friggin hate them all now I want it to stop.

I’m not sure what to say to make things better besides that I know many people can relate to the feeling of dealing with an endless dental saga. I have been going to the dentist religiously for years (never had an absence) and have had my share of fillings, extractions, and root canals. I for the most part kept up with brushing/flossing/mouthwash at home but it didn’t seem to make much of a difference. I think some people are just more prone to dental problems like other people are more prone to skin problems or kidney stones or even cancer. Are you happy with your current dental practice? It sounds like you have a lot of stress revolving around upcoming appointments. Sometimes, if treatment seems less stressful and more tolerable, it can change your outlook.

Thank u for replying, I've got 3 (second opinions) I left my dental office and there is really no hope for me I get in the chair and I pray to god to stop my heart from racing I'm not a coward I've been through a lot in my life and I just don't know how much more I can take ive been quoted $30,000 to fix my problems the financial emotional and physical stress has taken over me and I just want it to stop. I'm loosing trust and I hate myself for not being able to handle all of this. I'm loosing it

Losing my Shi!

I'm so sorry what you are going through, all of this is totally overshelming together.. I would only just want to freeze andnot even know how to proceed but take baby steps. like what if you could just make it through just the next step. just walking through the door or the next procedure without looking at the big picture.

I have my whole mouth full of work to do and specialists have told me it would be anywhere from 35,000-50,000 .. agh. I can't do it.. then I think why don't I just give up.. I can't,. I need to just keep some type of positive momentum so I find a dentist who is on my wavelengh and willing to work with me at my pace and he says. "we will do it, I will help you, it will be okay.. whatever you can do.. ".. and he's so calm about it , it really helps me be calm too like it wll all work somehow even though I just want it all done and everytime I think about it or look in my mouth its overwhelming.. anyways.. I totally understand you just wanting it all to stop.

I hope the caps go well. do you have a date for them? if youve already made it through root canals, extractons and more,, you are well on your way....

wishing the best for you!

Sorry to hear about your difficult situation. Is a removable solution (rather than a fixed one) is an option? It would bring the costs down and is much easier with grinding patients.

I totally get losing trust in people. I’ve lost trust in the medical profession due to some ongoing issues there and alway felt comfortable with dentists however now I feel the same way and the added stress is causing grinding at night I’m sure no one seems to want to address that issue. So I get how you feel ?

i ordered armor guard on line, I did research on night guards and this one is highly recommended. I already received my kit in the mail I have to make an impression mold and send it back. My mouth is small so I hope I can get an effective fit. They send you two sizes but even the small one is hard to fit. I'm not going to do the impression until I get my two lower crowns on Monday. Then illl make a lower impression and send it in and hope for the best. This was $62.00. A far cry from $1000.00 that dentists want. I'm obviously trying this first. Fingers crossed!

I'm going to ask my dentist for the Removable appliance thank you, I've been considering this option!

I've got my two temporary crowns on today it was a rough morning but I dealt with it. My dentist is making me a flapper, for two teeth missing on top and $300.00 is a lot easier to take, I get to try it out Thursday morning. I'm anxious about getting the permanent crowns put in. Will it be less stressful then the constant drilling and post installation that I had to go thru today?

The other dentist (my dentists wife) did a mock up smile for me. It looked beautiful. She asked me to smile for a picture. I tried, she said "you forgot how to smile". That was the most poignant statement ever made on my decades long journey. She was right. She sed " we're going to change that" that gives me hope!

That is so lovely. They sound like wonderful people to be working with. Keep us posted! Getting excited for you!

Yes it was. It was a human reaction to suffering. I will never forget that. I have hope??

Yes, you are through the worst of it with the crowns. All that is needed to place the permanent crowns now is to pop off the temporary ones, glue on the pemanent ones, and check your bite. After that you will be good to go! Should take 5-10 minutes at the most, for that. You will not need to be numbed and nothing should hurt.

Loosing my sh..

I've been through too many crown seats to count :P. It really is the best part and not painful . I personally choose to have anesthetic (I know my dentists local doesn't hurt at all) if the tooth hasn't been root canaled just to make certain I don't feel anything but most the time you don't need it is what I've heard. Either way it should be quick and its very satisfying to see the new tooth :).. wishing you the best on your crown seat.
