Hello, i'm 16 years old and i'm afraid of the dentist ever since my first root canal with adult teeth when I was 12. On December 3rd I have to go to the dentist for 3 root canals and 5 fillings.. It's so embarrassing I hate talking about my teeth.. I'm receiving oral sedation for the procedure, I just hope it's enough to get me through the whole thing. I guess i'm getting some Valium the night before, some Valium in the morning, some Ativan when I get to the dentist and 2 pills that start with a 'D'(If you know what they are please tell me), and some Nitrous Oxide(Laughing gas). I really really hope it's enough to keep me sedated and feel comfortable.. Do you think it will be enough? Please I need some support.. Thank you.. First Post

. It sounds like you will have more than enough sedation though. Have you had experience with sedation before? I really do believe that it probably will be enough based on experiences that people have posted about oral sedation and nitrous oxide on the forum. They have been shown to both be very successful when used separately and in combination. Just make sure that you feel comfortable with your dentist and trust them as much as you can prior to starting the procedure. I also second what Tabatha has said.
