I have 2 front teeth with posts core and crowns which were fitted 30 years ago. The metal part at the top of the crowns is showing black and is very unsightly and I wondered how easy it would be to replace the old crowns, or if necessary the core ,post and crowns. I am worried that I might loose the teeth.

I would be most grateful for any advise.
Many thanks,

Phel

if the posts have lasted 30 years then they are clearly a very good fit and forcing a removal would risk damaging the roots.
A safer option would be to see whether the greyness can be masked with new crowns, depending upon how high your lips go when you smile, how thin the gums are, how grey the roots are this may be possible.
