I was told 6 months ago that I have an infection in my 40 year old root canal upper tooth. I am 70. I was advised to get some kind of procedure to try to save the tooth. I cannot remember the exact name of that procedure but it would have cost me 1700.00. and not a sure guarantee that the tooth would be saved a few years down the road, it still might have to be extracted. So today it is bleeding pretty bad in that upper tooth while brushing it. No pain. My question, does it hurt to have a root canal tooth extracted? Or is the root gone anyways so there would be no pain? I have a high sensitivity to epinephrine, the ingredient in nova Caine, so he has to go easy on the nova, and does inject me often. Because of all this I am dental phobic. Also I have had two dental implants and I handled them quite well. If he extracts this root canal tooth, Can a root canal tooth get an implant? thank you....
