Scared of having a pre molar out with just a local !!

Hi, i feel such a baby i have a denture in the top, and have a few of my own teeth at the bottom, the problem is i went for an inspection 2 week ago, and i had to have either a root canal or extraction on a pre molar,this tooth has botherd me for a few years now, i had it filled a few times,but it still caused me pain,i chose to ignore it for the last few years as it wasnt too bad,anyway at my inspection i told my dentist,he x -rayed it and said it needs extracting or root canal,
so i said extraction, i am due to have it done on the 18th,but i am getting so very stressed ,the reason being i have never had one out with just a local,i had sedation for previous extractions,but i dont really want sedating just for the one tooth,freinds tell me its easier than having a filling so why dont i believe them i am so scared of the local not working and the tugging and pulling. i keep thinking i will cancel the appointment due to my fear,but really dont want to i have MS and not very well so that makes it worse.

Never had a tooth extracted...

But my sister had her 4 wisdom teeth out just with a local and my hubby has had teeth extracted (for braces) with local and they both said it was super easy. So you won't be the first one to get this done with just a local.

If it's too much though, talk to your dentist about sedating you.

i know i wont be the first one to have a tooth out with just a local,i am just scared of the unknown i suppose,

i dont want to be sedated for just the one tooth.it hardly seems worth it,i also magnify things in my mind because i am not well at all.
