so I was all set, had all my yogurts and mashed potatoes lined up, put all my meds next to my bed, got a week off from work, and I walked in to the office no problem ... The surgeon came in and explained everything in detail in a very calm manner than asked if I had any questions.. I told him about my recent root canal and how they couldn't finish because I wouldn't stop bleeding and I also have kidney problems which cause my kidneys to bleed into my urine and he wants to get blood work and medical clearance from my doc before going thru with all my extractions, so he postponed... I was a little disappointed because I felt ready!!! Which is a huge thing in itself!! I feel so strong :) but he just wants to be safe and make sure I don't bleed so much during and after the surgery which could pit me in the hospital needing a blood transfusion or could be possibly fatal.. So now I have to go to the docs and get my blood work, wait for it to come back, then try this all over again!! I feel a little less freaked about the situation but by this time today, ithought I would it would have been done and over with... Now maybe another week or two of waiting.. And I am in almost constant throbbing pain and still can't eat much. I only weigh 100 lbs as it is:( anyway, in the mean time I'll be on here trying to support and encourage fellow phobics..[smiley=hugging.gif]

Ahh, sorry it's postponed..especially with you being all set to go. But it's for good reason. Hopefully all your blood work will come back quickly and you can get everything rescheduled soon. If you're like me..the waiting is one of the worst parts. [smiley=hugging.gif]

What a shame, I felt like that recently...all set to go and then something gets in the way! I hate the waiting part and hope your blood works come through good and fast for you. Well done for nearly getting to the point of no return![smiley=hugging.gif]

I'm sorry it got postponed, but your dentist sounds very responsible and that's a great thing!

That's what I thought after the inital disappointment. I was really amazed at how ready and calm I felt. Then I kinda felt ripped off. And I feel really bad because the assistants and receptionists were apologizing because they knew what it took for me to even get there and not have eaten or smoked and I had arranged time off for the recovery, and I was very short and rude to them. I don't know why but I was so mad and frustrated and I took it out on them. But Im going to take them sum yummy pastries next time I go in and apologize.
Getting back to my point, I feel ALOT more secure that the surgeon ordered tests to be run before proceeding. I need to thank him in a big way when this is all over and I turn out ok. He explained about everything so entirely, I genuinely felt so comforted and reassured about the whole thing8-)
Anywho, next post after blood work and re- setting of my ACTUAL surgery. Thanx everyone for listening and being here for me:grouphug:
