Sunday 15th August 2021 - petrified. Have my first dental appointment tomorrow at midday. Too much shame and embarrassment over my teeth. Can’t let it go on. This time tomorrow night, I’m hoping to feel so proud that I went.

Looking back on my experience yesterday, it went ok. I feel the fact that I’ve been seen is the start of the whole process to being able to smile without embarrassment. I know it’s going to all take time. Teeth to come out, new plate and a few visits to the hygienist. I can’t quite believe I typed the last sentence but it’s true. Fear isn’t going to cage me in anymore.
