today, i went to get a one-day crown (from a new dentist - since my regular dentist only does regular crowns.) and during the injection, I felt a shock during the injection in the center of my lower lip. (it was lower left crown)
the only thing I could think of was that he hit a nerve since it kinda traveled till it stopped at my lip.
the crowns in and I'm still a bit numb at the injection site (after 6 hours) and I'm trying not to worry about that shock but "if it were rational, they wouldn't call it a phobia."
anything you can tell me to ease my mind would be greatly appreciated.

You're right, the dentist has hit close to the nerve with the needle. It happens occasionally, but it's harmless (scary though!). Usually means the local can take a bit longer to wear off too.
