:-X Have any of you ever experienced a seering-fire-like-pain that runs through your gums, through your nose, into your face, down your throat and up to your BRAIN from a Novocaine Shot? The only answer my dentist gave me was: "I know what you felt, and you weren't supposed to feel that." This was during a root canal treatment. Needless to say, I am not too particularly thrilled with the dental work I've yet to have.

Well done, you've just stumbled on Gordon's pet dental hate. Novacaine hasn't been made since 1925 or thereabouts :-)

It sounds like the dentist has been rather too accurate with the injection and zapped right onto the nerve. It does happen occasionally but it is rare and it's not likely to happen to you again.

[smiley=hugging.gif]Thanks..The dentist was an idiot to begin with, and I'm glad to have finally had an answer to my question that I've been fearing shots for years because of it.  [smiley=frightened.gif]
