Slightly sharp tooth

I have a very slightly sharp ridge on one of my molars as a result of a filling a few weeks ago. It's not bad and not causing me any major problems, it just irritates me at times.

The ridge is as a result of the inner filling being a touch lower than the surrounding enamel, something which I didn't at first notice due to having a numb tongue!

My dentist lives a fair way from me so I'm curious if I can do anything and so use something to take the edge off the area. I know enamel is tough stuff so would it be acceptable to use a normal, very fine nail file? It really is such a tiny area which the dentist could whisk off in a second with his drill!
