I had an injection to numb my mouth to take my tooth out after i had it done i didn't closes my mouth for a while. When the numbness went i felt pain in my jaw when ever i chewed laugh or talked. I don't no if it is not closing my mouth for a while that has cause the pain or its the injection that has causes my jaw to hurt. Please tell me what it is how to make it feel better and if the pain will go away i don't no if it is normal please help.

Hello lollypop2000
Your jaw is probably stiff from being open for awhile when the dentist was working on you and also probably from the injection..Use a cold pack on it..20 minutes on and 20 minutes off....It should start to feel better.

Probably is a big deal if you are hurting but having an explanation often lessens the pain a degree. Injection pain is often a bit more localised inside but the ice pack applied outside should help if this doesn't ease it after a day try a warm pack, an ibuprofen may help if you feel it is really painful and you've tried the packs and you are ok to take them, it is quite normal and will return to normal soon xx All the best xx
