Stiches or scab??

I got my wisdom teeth removed 8 days ago.
Theres a white thing hanging from my gum. Theres a big round piece with two long stiches looking pieces.
it is still attached to my gum..
i thought it could be stiches but i had the ones that just melt..
what is it???

The ones that melt will come loose too - they don't really "melt" but they dissolve in chunks. I had those recently during the gum flap surgery and they totally made me gag lol. My dentist told me I can either leave them alone completely or if they were bothering me, I could gently pull on them to see if it would come out (if it doesn't - I was to leave them alone). After 2 weeks, I went back to the dentist and they checked to see if there were any stitches left. I think I found a few more after 2 weeks though, but they came out really easily, especially when I was flossing.

More than likely they're stitches if they look like string, but I had a hard time telling the difference between a stitch and a piece of food tbh.
